GLOSSARY · CONTRACTS & MONEY

What is Micro Contract (MES, MNQ)?

Micro futures are one-tenth the size of the standard E-mini contracts.

CME micro contracts let smaller accounts trade the same markets with a tenth of the risk per tick. They track exactly the same price as the full-size contract.

Micros are ideal for learning, for scaling into positions, and for prop firm accounts with tight drawdown limits.

EXAMPLE

One NQ contract = $5 per tick. One MNQ = $0.50 per tick. A trader risking $100 with a 20-tick stop could trade 1 NQ (20 × $5) — or 10 MNQ for the same risk with finer control.
